Boating


Rice Lake is a key 32-km (20-mile) stretch of the Trent-Severn Waterway in Ontario, featuring 27 islands and numerous marinas. There are dock slip rentals at Bellmere Winds Golf Resort from which you can travel north to Hastings, south to Bewdley and Gores Landing, or west to Peterborough. This boat trip is      a scenic 32-km journey up the winding Otonabee River, typically taking 2-3 hours. Rice Lake is located 18 locks from Lake Ontario. There are pontoon boat tours available for a fee from Bellmere Winds Golf Resort.

Beaches & Swimming

There is a small beach at Bellmere Winds Golf Resort. Spook Island sandbar (pictured) is accessible only by boat and is a popular anchoring place for boaters and swimmers. Harwood Waterfront and Dock features a small, sandy beach; a picnic shelter; and washrooms. Gores Landing Beach is a popular, generally clean spot for swimming. Sandy Bay Public Beach/Park (Roseneath) offers a small, sandy beach and park area. Bewdley Beach provides 20 metres of sandy beach with warm, shallow water and a sandy bottom.
